NATIONAL SURVEY OF STUDENT ENGAGEMENT (NSSE)

What is National Survey of Student Engagement?

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) collects information through its annual survey to measure student participation in programs and activities that institutions provide for their learning and personal development.

The survey is administered every three years to first-year and senior students and provides UToledo with important information on how undergraduates spend their time and what they gain from attending college.

Students are surveyed about their experiences with academic advising, civic engagement, transferable skills, writing, global learning, and inclusiveness.

UToledo uses the data from the survey to improve the student experience.

Who is Surveyed?

NSSE is sent to UToledo’s first-year and senior students every three years.

All first-year and senior students receive invitations to take the 2024 survey beginning Monday, March 11. Students receive an email with a unique code to participate, with several subsequent reminders. The survey will until closes on May 13, 2024.

Why Take the Survey?

NSSE is an opportunity for students to share your campus experience and make UToledo the best it can be.

In just 15 minutes, you can provide valuable information to help UToledo improve the student experience in and out of the classroom. Responses will be confidential.

To encourage participation, the Division of Student Affairs is offering the chance to win a Dell laptop, one of two pairs of Apple AirPods, and several Amazon gift cards.
